Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that no Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin’s head of Kremlin with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said. The head of Russian diplomacy thus commented in an interview with the US NBC News published on Friday. Lavrov, according to NBC News, questioned the efforts of the President of the United States Donald Trump to organize such a summit to end the war in Ukraine, writes TASR.

“Putin is ready to meet Greeny when he is ready, but this program is not ready at all,” Lavrov pointed out.

Trump’s initiative

Trump is trying to organize a meeting of presidents of Russia and Ukraine, and in Tuesday, he confirmed that the preparations of such negotiations have already begun. On the same day, Zelenskyj said he was ready to meet the head of the Kremlin without preliminary conditions. On Thursday, however, Zelenskyj said that the meeting between him and Putin will only be possible after an agreement between Ukraine, the US and other Western allies on security guarantees.

“President Putin clearly said he was ready to meet if this meeting has a real program, the presidential program,” says the Russian minister. According to NBC News, he indicated that Ukraine is inhibiting progress towards Peace Agreement.

Kremlin’s main reservations

Lavrov said Trump suggested that Trump after last week’s meeting with Putin in Alaska proposed several points that Russia agrees with and some of them agreed to show flexibility.

“When President Trump brought … These questions for negotiations in Washington, it was clear to everyone that there are several principles that, according to Washington, must be accepted, including the fact that (Ukraine) would not enter NATO, and including the territorial discussion.

The head of Russian diplomacy added that the Ukrainian president also refused to abolish the laws “prohibiting” the use of Russian. NBC News explains that Ukraine has not forbidden Russian language, but Putin without evidence has long claimed that Kiev “committed genocide on the Russian -speaking population” in Donbas. TASR recalls that in Ukraine, the State Language Act adopted in 2019 to support the use of Ukrainian and significantly reduced the use of Russian in public intercourse. At that time, the Venetian Commission report stated that the Ukrainian authorities justified this step by centuries -old oppression of Ukrainian at the expense of Russian. However, in connection with the adoption of the law, the Commission has expressed certain concerns about human rights and non -discrimination of national minorities.

Questioning green legitimacy

Putin has also repeatedly questioned the legitimacy of Greenland as the head of state after its term of office last spring and the subsequent resolution of the Ukrainian Parliament that it will remain in office until the next elections, which cannot be properly organized during the war. Meanwhile, the Kremlin has repeatedly indicated that if Greeding – despite the resolution of the Ukrainian Parliament – illegitimate president, the possible or possible peace acts will not be signed by him.

Greeding on Thursday said that Russia is trying to “twist” from the summit these days and accused him of continuing massive attacks on Ukraine.
