Kilmar Ábargo García became a symbol of the mass deportation policies of immigrants implemented by the Donald Trump government
Kilmar Ábargo García, a saving citizen who was deported from the United States by mistake and later arrested on charges of trafficking in undocumented migrants, was released on Friday (22), according to his lawyer. Resident in and married to an Americana, Ábrica García became a symbol of the mass deportation policies of immigrants implemented by the Donald Trump government. He was sent to March with more than 250 men, most accused of belonging to foreign gangs.
Subsequently, the US government acknowledged that its deportation occurred by an “administrative error,” as an order of deportation against him had been revoked in 2019. “Today Kilmar García is free. He is on his way to Maryland to meet with his family after being arrested, deported and illegally incarcerated,” said Sean Hecker, Salvadoren’s lawyer.
According to Hecker, Ábrica García thanks the American judicial system for respecting due process. After returning to the US in June, the government began a lawsuit against García in Tennessee, accusing him of facilitating the illegal entry of migrants. On July 23, a judge determined his freedom while awaiting the trial, scheduled for January 27, 2026.
