Man told the judge that the refusal had no ideological motivation, but was linked to security issues; Ministry of Interior classified the incident as a serious
The manager of an amusement park in Porte-Puymorens, was accused this Saturday of discrimination due to origin, ethnicity or nationality after denying the entrance to a group of 150 minors, from 8 to 16 years, despite having reserved tickets. The prosecutor reported that he was released after attending a hearing.
According to the Perpignan MP, the practice of denying access to a good or service in a place open to the public can generate a sentence of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to 75 thousand euros. The 52-year-old manager had been in pre-trial detention since Thursday and told the judge that the refusal had no ideological motivation, but was linked to security issues.
France’s interior minister Bruno Retailleau classified the incident as serious and said he hoped the court will be firm, highlighting the increase in anti -Semitic acts in the country.
