Or maybe a cup of coffee without additives will be better? Scientists from Denmark have found that, for example, cappuccino has a greater anti -inflammatory effect than Americano. But this does not mean that an espresso cup is unhealthy. During the research, the scientists also found that coffee contains minerals and antioxidants, thanks to which it can reduce the risk of cancer, two types of diabetes and dementia. Thanks to the caffeine content and its appetite, it can help in the treatment of obesity. However, the type of coffee is not without significance.
– While we found a relationship between consuming moderate amounts of ground coffee and a decrease in the risk of death, we did not notice it in people who regularly drink instant coffee. The causes should probably be seen in the way both types of coffee are processed, because you can find other chemicals in them- Zahra Raisi-Estabragh, a scholarship holder of Queen Mary University, pointed out.
What to add to coffee to make it healthier? Scientists suggest which coffee has a better impact on health
Scientists from Denmark have found that the combination of proteins contained in milk and antioxidants from coffee doubles anti -inflammatory properties in immune cells. And this means that adding coffee milk makes the drink a different effect on our health. To examine the anti -inflammatory effect of polyphenol connection with proteins, scientists used the model of artificial inflammation in immune cell farms. Some of them treated with different doses of polyphenols, others with polyphenols that reacted with the amino acid. Therefore, it can be assumed that such a combination will have equally beneficial on living people. Of course, we will continue to study this effect. For now, on animals, and in the future, if we manage to collect the necessary funds, also on man – said Professor Marianne Nissen Lund, the main author of the study, whose results were published in 2023 in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.
How many coffees can be drinking a day?
How many cups of coffee a day to drink so that it has a positive effect on our heart? Answer this question, she took scientists from Budapest and London 11 years. Experts emphasize that the type of coffee is also important. Ground and soluble have a different impact on the cardiovascular system. Scientists from the Semmelweis Institute in Budapest and Queen Mary University in London for 11 years conducted observation of almost 469 thousand people who were not affected by heart and cardiovascular disease at the beginning of the study. Of the people who drank coffee in moderate quantities-from half to three cups a day-the risk of death was 12 percent lower compared to people who do not drink coffee, the risk of death due to cardiovascular problems by 17 percent lower, and the risk of stroke by 21 percent lower. Thanks to tests using magnetic resonance imaging, it was also possible to check whether regular coffee consumption has an impact on the structure and work of the heart. The results will please coffee enthusiasts-regular drinking in moderate quantities is beneficial to the heart and has a reversible effect on changes in this body as age-noted the director of the Medical imaging clinic at the University of Semmelweis, Pal Maurovich-Horvat.
