Demonstrators ask a ceasefire and an agreement with Hamas to release prisoners. Another big national protest day is scheduled for Tuesday.
Relatives of hostages detained in the Gaza Strip demonstrated on Sunday before the residences of Israeli ministers, asking for a ceasefire and an agreement with the Palestinian militant organization Hamas to release captains. TASR reports this according to the DPA news agency.
“We will not tolerate further delays. Listen to people: Exit this war and bring all the houses,” says the Hostage and Missing Family forum.
Demonstrators gathered in front of the houses of six members of the government, including Defense Minister Jisrael Kac and Foreign Minister Gideon Saar. Another big national protest day is scheduled for Tuesday.
Hamas announced on Monday that he had agreed with a new proposal for ceasefire intermediaries. According to media reports, this is a modified version of the design that previously negotiated the American special envoy Steve Witkoff. According to reports, the proposal includes a 60-day ceasefire, during which ten hostages will first be released in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.
A total of 50 hostages are still detained in the Gaza Strip, of which only 20 are estimated to be alive. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in the meantime, approved a plan to conquer Gaza and started new negotiations with Hamas.
