Eduardo Tagliaferro is responsible for 4 crimes after passing on confidential information to Folha while holding office in the TSE
The PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) presented on Friday (22.ago.2025) a complaint against Eduardo Tagliaferro, former advisor to Minister Alexandre de Moraes in (Superior Electoral Court). The MPF (Federal Public Prosecution Service) accuses it with 4 crimes related to the leakage of confidential information obtained during the exercise of the position.
Tagliaferro was denounced for violation of functional confidentiality, obstruction of criminal investigation, coercion in the course of the process and attempted violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law. Read A (PDF – 3.8 MB)
According to the complaint signed by the Attorney General, Paulo Gonet, the crimes were committed between May 2023 and July 2025, when Tagliaferro revealed to the press confidential dialogues maintained with Supreme Court servers and TSE.
The authorship of the leak was confirmed by messages exchanged in April 2024. In dialogues, Tagliaferro admitted to talking to a journalist from S.Paulo Folhasaying: “They are investigating the minister” e “This journalist detonates the minister”.
The former advisor confirmed that he was sought with the guarantee that he would not be identified in the report.
The messages were published by the newspaper Sheet In August 2024, exposing conversations about confidential matters of the advisory where I worked.
According to the PF (Federal Police) report, the report would be intended to question the impartiality of the Supreme Court and the TSE, as well as interfering with the ongoing investigations.
Tagliaferro even fleeed Brazil and gave an interview to the channel “Conversa Timeline”, led by Allan Lopes dos Santos, also investigated by the STF. In the conversation, it threatened to publicize new confidential information, claiming to have “A lot” and that the previous leak was “Only the Iceberg Pontinha”.
The PGR maintains that the leak would have been strategic. According to the complaint, Tagliaferro’s actions aimed to favor a criminal organization investigated for attempted coup and fake news.
According to the prosecutor, the former advisor voluntarily adhered to the purposes of the criminal organization. He selected confidential dialogues to interfere with the credibility of investigations into undemocratic acts of 8 January 2023.
The case is processed in the Supreme Court due to the connection with other investigations ongoing to the Court, including fake news () and digital militias () inquiries. THE
PGR also requests fixation of value to repair the damages caused by the denounced crimes.
