The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), announced on Saturday (23) investments that will be made at Barretos Airport, in the interior of the state. The governor’s expectation is “more than duplicate” the capacity of the place.
“We are closing with the concessionaire investments at Barretos airport, we will more than double the airport’s capacity. […] We want to increase the passenger terminal, give more comfort and the same capacity as the São José do Rio Preto terminal, “he said.
The works, according to Tarcisio, should to start later this year and the expectation is that the conclusion will take place in 2026.
The statement took place during a press conference at the Barretos Festival, in the interior of São Paulo. In the collective, from Minas Gerais, Romeu low (New), and from Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (Unity).
In addition to investments at the airport, the governor of São Paulo said it determined the preparation of the engineering project for the duplication From Assis Chateaubriand Highway to Guapiaçu, neighboring municipality.
Tarcisio also determined the beginning of the duplication engineering project that connect barretas to the municipality of Colombia, on the border with Minas Gerais.
At the end of his speech, the governor of São Paulo praised the Barretos festival and agribusiness, emphasizing the role of the sector for the Brazilian economy and the technical and technological advances in the Brazilian segment that are regarded as a reference abroad.
