Γιατί ο Τραμπ «πολιορκεί» το Λος Άντζελες – Πιθανή «μπανανόφλουδα» για τον πρόεδρο το Μεταναστευτικό

Even for the most unpredictable president in their history, some kind of predictability is welcome. A year before the interim elections that will determine the composition of Congress -and consequently its control – -his faithful allies to the Republican Party have decided to exhaust any possibility of opposition democrats, redesigning them.

But this time, the US president’s initiative caused the response of one of the most powerful figures of the Democratic Party, the Governor of California, who in turn reinstated the not -so -distant “after Trump” debate.

Gerrymandering and regions

The political conflict gave Texas, and in particular the Republican state -controlled state parliament, which last Wednesday approved the redesigned electoral maps, which create those conditions so that the ruling party could continue.

H. The practice of drawing up electoral apartments in such a way that the elected to choose the electorate largely, corresponding to population and ethnic groups to the number of Members elected in Congress, is known in the US, with the term Gerrymandering. In this case, in the state of Texas, the proposal to change the constituencies was approved by 88 MPs, -remains to be approved by the local Senate, where the majority of the Republicans have, and to be validated by the Republican Governor of the State.

In vain, Democratic MPs of Texas attempted to avoid amending the constituencies. In early August, they abandoned the state massively, going to Chicago and New York, in order not to attend the meetings of the House of Representatives. Their absence prevented Republicans for more than two weeks from organizing a measure for the measure as there was not a sufficient number of Members in the House of Representatives.

There had been an intervention by Trump himself, who had urged Republican state legislators to “collect five seats”, while claiming that gerrymandering was also applied to democratic control, California. The report was not accidental, allowing the ruler of one of the most ‘blue’ states [σ.σ. το χρώμα των Δημοκρατικών] To get into the controversy dynamically, promoting the state Congress new political maps in order to give Democrats an additional five seats in Congress, thereby offsetting the party advantage.

Conflict between descendants

Newsom’s move- for the devastating fires that hit California last January- does not start exclusively from high or personal incentives. The 57 -year -old governor is considered one of the dominant Democrats for the 2028 presidential election and a White House confrontation, provides him with a nationwide status of the US president’s privileged interlocutor. In addition, it acts as a re -establishment for those disoriented after the defeat of 2024, Democrats, who have arranged strong disagreements over whether the historic party must “turn” left or right.

In this context, that of the direct programmatic conflict in combination with the incorporation of Trump’s communication culture, adopting the latter’s “huja” on social media, such as the use of capital letters in its posts or the use of the “beautiful” aggressive identification for its legislatives. This tactic did not escape the attention of Vice President Jay Di Vance, who criticized Newsom, accusing him of copying Trump, at the same time lacking his authenticity.

Given that Vance has recently been positive about the prospect of nominating the highest public office in three years from now, his response to Newsom may be a “rehearsal” of a presidential confrontation between the two men. In this sense, the more we approach the time of the intermediate elections, the more likely we are to see the personal agendas of the two ambitious men- and not only them- to unfold, with a reference point of Trump’s policies, in a legacy that appears now that it will leave a strong legacy.
