Israel’s defense forces reacted Monday to the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the deaths of five journalists working for means such as AP, Reuters, Al Jazeera and NBC. In a statement sent to the newsrooms, the army guarantees “to regret any damage to not involved civilians” and reported “targeting journalists as such.”

The same statement reports that the Chief of Staff ordered an initial investigation as soon as possible.

According to a hospital source, the dead journalists were Mohammad Salama, image reporter for Al Jazeera, Hussam Al-Mamasri, Reuters hired, and Mariam Abu Dagga, who worked with Associated Press and other communication bodies throughout the war. Moath Abu Taha, a freelance journalist who collaborated with NBC, also died in the attack, the hospital added.

Gaza’s Civil Defense Organization also said that one of its members lost its life in the attack.
