Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday regretted the attack of the Israeli army on the hospital in the city of Khan Junis in the Gaza Strip, which killed 20 people, including five journalists. He described the incident as a “tragic accident”, TASR reports according to the AP report and Times of Israel (Toi).

“Israel is deeply regretted by the tragic accident that occurred today (Monday) in the Nasir Hospital in the Gaza Strip. Israel values ​​the work of journalists, medical staff and all civilians. Military authorities are conducting a thorough investigation,” says the statement only published in English.

“Our war is led against terrorists from Hamas. Our righteous goal is to defeat Hamas and bring our hostages home,” Netanyahu’s office added.

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Monday that Israel had hit Nasir’s hospital with two missiles. The second one turned out after the rescue teams. Five journalists also died in the attack – one worked for Reuters and a freelance journalist has worked with AP since the beginning of the war. The victim was also a journalist of al-Jazeera news television.

Several countries, including Italy, Germany and Britain, as well as the Vatican or the High Commissioner of the United Nations Human Rights (OHCHR) and the UN to help Palestinian refugees (UNRW), have been sentenced to Israel.
