Turkey: Fine to the Minister of Transport to exceed speed limit

A fine for exceeding the speed limit was imposed on its Minister of Transport. He posted a video that showed him 225 km/h on a highway. This speed is almost twice as much as the permitted limit.

The video shows Abdulkadir Terve’s car container with the minister wanting to praise the works of the Erdogan government. The post has sparked many comments of users on social media, forcing him to apologize publicly.

‘Sorry to the Nation of Turkey’

Its traffic later delivered a fine of almost € 240 for a breach of the speed limit by about 50 kilometers outside Ankara. Faced with reactions, the tale uploaded a photo of the call to the X platform writing: “Sorry to the nation”.

The maximum speed limit for Turkish highways is 140 km last year, 6,351 people were killed in about 1.5 million traffic accidents, according to official data.
