Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greenable on Tuesday suggested that the meeting between him and President of Russia Vladimir Putin will take place in Turkey, the Gulf countries or Europe. Reuters, TASR informs.
“This week we will contact Turkey, the Gulf States and the European States that could host negotiations with the Russians,” said Zelenskyj in a regular evening video. “Everything will be ready for the maximum for our part to end the war,” he said.
The head of the office of Ukrainian President Andri Jermak and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rusto UMER are visiting Qatar, where they plan to meet with Defense Minister Saudi Bin Abdarrahmán Elie.
Greens have long called on Putin for a joint meeting that would focus on ending the war in Ukraine. Their meeting is also promoted by US President Donald Trump, who, after negotiations with Putin in Alaska, said that such a meeting is already being prepared. However, Russian diplomacy chief Sergei Lavrov denied last week that there would be any preparations for the Russian and Ukrainian President.
