Belém’s Catholic and Evangelical Churches have come together to launch a platform that offers free accommodations during the, scheduled to take place between November 10 and 21. Called purpose hospitality network, the initiative aims to register between 1,000 and 3,000 beds, which will be available from September 1 . The proposal emerges as a viable alternative to the high hosting costs that usually occur during major events. Religious institutions are being encouraged to provide spaces such as farms and sites to ensure visitors have a comfortable and safe stay. The registration process for the hosts began on July 26 and will continue until the desired number of beds is reached.

To request a vacancy, guests will need to prove their participation in COP30 activities. The accommodations will be distributed not only in Belém, but also in municipalities of the metropolitan region. Churches that choose to charge for the hosts will be directed to the Federal Government’s official hosting platform. Among the places that have already signed up for the initiative, stands out the Baptist Church of Lagoinha, which will provide 13 rooms and 200 places in adapted auditoriums. In addition, the farm of the Amazon Missionary Baptist Church will offer 200 individual accommodations and 8 apartments for couples.
