Paulo Gonet sent an opinion to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the action at the STF, recognizing evidence of possible asylum attempt and Bolsonaro approach with embassies
The PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) spoke on Friday (29) against the continuous presence of police inside the residence of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), which meets house arrest in Brasilia. The opinion was sent to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of criminal action 2,668 in the Supreme Court (STF), in response to a letter from the Federal Police that pointed to the risk of escape from the former president.
In the document, the Attorney General, Paulo Gonet, acknowledged that there are “circumstances that recommend precautions against escape initiatives”, especially due to the proximity of Bolsonaro’s judgment in the 1st class of the Supreme.
Among the signs mentioned are the discovery of a draft asylum request addressed to the president of Argentina and the former president’s approach history with foreign embassies, such as Hungary.
