The Government of the Criminal Code has brought many problems to the capital over the past year. An example is the location of 500 apartments in Ružinov in Bratislava at the bus station. Problems, according to the Mayor of Bratislava Matúš Vallo, started The “jump” increase in theft from the shopping center to which more, including drug crime, joined. The municipal police have therefore intensified the patrol in cooperation with the state, but the mayor emphasizes that the government must also act.
“We have radically intensified patrol, reporting problem behavior, followed by prompt police trips. Only the city police intervention unit has had 221 checks here in the last three months, ”says Vallo on the social network.
He points out that residents feel improved by the situation, and the location is particularly safer when the police patrol there. The problem, however, according to the mayor, is, among other things, that The capacity of the municipal and state police are not unlimited. And although the municipality, together with the residents, found other additional solutions to the situation, the government must act in particular.
First of all, they require her to reverse the problems it caused by the amendment. It also draws attention to the importance of improving the city and state police competences so that they can more effectively address negative behavior in public space. “It is incomprehensible that the government can look idly on the impact of the amendment to the Criminal Code,” notes Vallo.
At the same time, it declares that the security of the inhabitants of Bratislava is important for the capital and will not tolerate annoying or threatening behavior. It advises that with greater intensity the municipality will focus on the Stone Square.
