Venezuela complains to UN about US naval force in the Caribbean

United Nations-Venezuela complained on Thursday with UN Secretary-General António Guterres about the increase in US naval presence in southern Caribbean and nearby waters, said Samuel Monunca, Venezuela ambassador.

He said Venezuela is not a threat to anyone and that the true threat in the region is the military and US nuclear weapons in the Caribbean.

US officials say Naval Force aims to face the threats of Latin America’s drug cartels.
