On Tuesday and Wednesday (3) next week, the 9th and 10th, the ministers of the first class express their considerations about the case. Already on Friday (12) the expectation is that the sentences will be defined. Bolsonaro and the other seven defendants respond to accusations of armed criminal organization; coup of state; attempted violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law; deterioration of overturned assets and qualified damage against the union’s assets.
The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) manifested itself for the conviction of the former president for all the crimes listed. In the case of a conviction, the penalty may reach 43 years in prison. As the defense may present appeals, there is not necessarily an immediate consequence in the hypothesis of conviction. At first, Bolsonaro would remain in house arrest. In addition to Jair Bolsonaro, the defendants will be tried in the next two weeks:
- Walter Braga Netto, former Minister of Defense and the Civil House;
- Augusto Heleno, former Minister of the Institutional Security Office;
- Alexandre Ramagem, former director of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency;
- Anderson Torres, former Minister of Justice;
- Almir Garnier, former Navy Commander;
- Paulo Sérgio Nogueira, former Minister of Defense;
- Mauro Cid, former presidential orders of the Presidency, who signed a denunciation agreement with the Federal Police
