The governor of, Wanderlei Barbosa (Republicans), was removed from office in an operation of the investigation of parliamentary amendments during the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the PF, there were frauds in the supply of basic baskets and frozen chicken purchased with this money. The loss is estimated at $ 73 million. The money would have been used to purchase luxury real estate, cattle buying and personal expenses.
The governor’s advisory did not comment on the case.
The operation and removal of the governor were authorized by Minister Mauro Campbell of (Superior Court of Justice).
51 search and seizure warrants were fulfilled. More than 200 police officers were mobilized for the operation.
