The mayor of Macapá (AP), Dr. Furlan, was the target of search and seizure of the PF (Federal Police), on Wednesday (3), in Operation Paroxism, which investigates alleged scheme of fraud in bidding, embezzlement of public resources and capital laundering related to a public competition led by the State Secretariat of State.
In addition to the mayor, according to the PF, the Secretary of Health of Macapá was also the target of operations.
In all, 11 search and seizure warrants are being served in Macapá and two search and seizure warrants in Belém (PA).
According to the investigations, there is evidence of the existence of a structured criminal scheme, involving public agents and entrepreneurs, focused on the direction of the bidding, embezzlement of public resources and payment of bribes in the engineering project and execution of the works of the city’s Municipal General Hospital.
The contract, formalized in May 2024, was signed for R $ 69.3 million.
The PF says that the group used asset concealment mechanisms, including physical deliveries of cash and bank movements to hide the illicit origin of the values.
The investigation points out that one of the investigated drew $ 9 million in kind. This amount would come from the scheme.
