Eurobasket – Grupo C – day 5
Spain will play life tonight against Greece at the Eurobasket (20.30, Teledeporte). Only a victory of Sergio Scariolo’s team against the team led by Vassilis Spanoulis and will allow the Spanish team to qualify for the round of 16 in Riga. It is the last and only bullet for Spain after the victory this afternoon of Bosnia against Georgia by 84-76.
The Spanish captain, Willy Hernangómez, had commented on the day before. The National Team trust in a triumph of Georgia so as not to have to play the pass to all or nothing against the powerful Greece. Bosnia, however, ate the shengelia troop. The Bosnia team played with more momentum in Limasol and enforced the inner power of its star, Jusuf Nurkic (15 points and 12 rebounds), and a good hand in the triples (14 bingos, twice as much as its rival). The Spyros Kyprianou Pavilion of Limasol also cried in favor of the bosnians thanks to their noisy fan. Bosnia came to send 15 points (56-41) to a Georgia reaction that allowed him to even tie the match at 69. The Bosnian team then sent balls to Nurkic and recovered the success in the perimeter to tie the victory and classification.
After losing on the first day against Georgia and last Tuesday against Italy, if he does not win Greece, he will sign its worst result in a big appointment (Eurobasket, World Cup or games) in the last game of Scariolo as coach.
