The Minister of Finance, said on Wednesday (3.Set.2025) who woke up “Concerned about democracy”. Without directing directly those involved on January 8 that can benefit the former president (PL), he spoke in “Articulations”.
“I woke up, when I learned about the news, the articulations, the backstage, what is happening. I was worried because I would like my children, my grandchildren and so on. That future generations were sure they will live in a country where democratic freedoms are not threatened. Unfortunately, I woke up worried that it may not be true.”he said in an interview with journalist José Luiz Datena, in the program “Brazil of the People”as well “RedeTV!”.
Haddad also criticized the governor of Sao Paulo (Republicans), who put the judiciary in check by saying that he does not believe in elements that support Bolsonaro’s eventual conviction for attempted.
“When you see that today in Brazil there are people who have no appreciation for democracy. When you see the governor of the state of Sao Paulo say that they do not trust institutions, who does not trust justice, who has to forgive those who tried a coup. The minister said the attempted coup d’état is “Absolutely well documented with witnesses, documents, with allegations, confessions”. According to Haddad, there is the understanding of part of the population being the attitude was correct.
