The first class of the Supreme Court is formed by five ministers, who judge former President Jair Bolsonaro and other defendants: Cristiano Zanin, Alexandre de Moraes, Cármen Lúcia, Flávio Dino and Luiz Fux
Alexandre de Moraes is a rapporteur of the case and received statements of support from the board to conduct the case. Determined searches, breach of confidentials and restrictions against the accused and accelerated the receipt of the complaint of the PGR
Moraes has already stated that there was “imminent risk” to powers and that “impunity, omission and cowardice are not options for pacification”

The minister has already pointed out that the scammer attacks “were not occasional” and that, to understand the case, it is necessary to “unfold on the 8th [de janeiro] backwards ”, in reference to acts practiced before the attacks
The class president, Cristiano Zanin, has adopted a discreet posture, including shorter votes. Receiving the complaint, he spoke for only 5 minutes
Zanin has already said there were “numerous documents” showing the participation of the accused. “It’s no use saying that the person was not on January 8 if she participated in a series of acts that culminated in this event,” he said
Flávio Dino is a strong ally of Moraes. He went out in defense of the minister when he was the target of Donald Trump’s attacks and made defenses of the Supreme Court, aligned with the rapporteur of the case
Dino’s votes have been hard in the coup plot sessions. The one who made Bolsonaro defendant said: “Stop of state kills. It doesn’t matter if it’s the day, the following month or a few years later”
Luiz Fux voted for receiving the complaint, but released questions about Mauro Cid’s denunciation and indicated that he will propose the revision of the dosimetry of any penalties
The minister diverged his colleagues to vote against Moraes’ decision to impose Bolsonaro electronic anklet, stating that “the breadth of imposed measures disproportionately restricts fundamental rights” “
The STF’s first class accepted PGR’s complaint and made Bolsonaro defendants and seven other members of the coup downtown, unanimously
In earlier phases of the trial, Moraes rejected preliminary questions raised by the defenses, classifying one of them as a “dust statement” and without foundation
Fux was the only one to present disagreements regarding procedural matters. For him, for example, cases should not be processed in the first class: they should be sent to the lower courts or the court plenary
