The City Council of Alicante has also announced the application of other measures, such as the closure of parks and gardens and the castle of Santa Bárbara before the orange alert for rains. For the same reason, the El Campello government team has decided to adopt caution measures – as of this Monday until the end of the situation – including the suspension of cultural and social classes and activities. Likewise, it has decreed the closure of parks, cemetery and sports facilities, and teleworking is recommended.
For its part, in Elche, the Cecopa chaired by the mayor, Pablo Ruz, has determined before the alert orange the suspension of the teaching activity throughout the municipality of all centers of children, primary, secondary and FP, both public, private and concerted, in addition to the outdoor extracurricular activities. As sources from the Department of Education have confirmed to Europa Press, also the City Council of Cox has chosen to suspend the school activity, which has started today in the Valencian Community.
This same afternoon, rainfall of 30.8 liters per square meter has been recorded in just one hour in Redovan (Alicante), which represents almost all the rain fallen on this day, which amounts to 31 liters. In the region of La Vega Baja, the storm has left in its path a humid burst and wind gusts of between 90 and 100 kilometers per hour in that municipality and in Callosa de Segura.
