In the coming days, the First Class of the Supreme Court (STF) should finish the trial that can condemn the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and the other seven defendants of the nucleus considered crucial of the complaint about the coup d’etat.

Overall, the defenses criticized Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid’s award-winning denunciation, claiming that the former orders have “lied” several times, which-according to them-takes away the credibility of the agreement.

Next Steps
From next Tuesday (9), the first class continues the trial.
In this second stage, the vote begins.
Minister Alexandre de Moraes will be the first to vote, pronounced on the merits of the case and deciding on the conviction or acquittal of the accused, as well as establishing any penalties. Then vote for ministers Flávio Dino, Luiz Fux, Cármen Lúcia and, finally, Cristiano Zanin.
If most ministers vote for the conviction, the board should define the penalties for each defendant. In case of acquittal, the process will be terminated without deliberation on penalties.
