The Federal Supreme Court (STF) maintains, this second week of the coup plot, the highest level of security ever applied in its recent history.
The first class of the court, chaired by Minister Cristiano Zanin, continues on Tuesday (9) the analysis of the complaint against the so-called “crucial nucleus” of the alleged coup plot, pointed out by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) as responsible for articulating measures to prevent the possession of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) after the election of 2022.
The rapporteur of the case, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, presented a report of almost two hours, summarizing the investigations conducted by the Federal Police and the final allegations of the process. The trial will have extraordinary sessions until September 12.

The protocol includes the closure of the Three Powers, barriers with metal detectors and the mobilization of special forces, such as the Military Police Shock Troop, the Special Operations Battalion (BOPE) and the Federal Police Tactical Operations Command (COT).
Officers of the Judicial Police of the Supreme Court and four other courts were displaced to Brasilia. Part of this staff, with guards from Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, already sleeps on the court’s premises since the beginning of the week.

In addition to human reinforcement, the security plan provides for ostensive patrolling and intensive technology use. Drones equipped with thermal cameras will be used in daytime and night scans, while sniffer dogs will act at court entrances. Backpacks will be searched and access to dependencies will be even more restricted.
