and Courts of Auditors in June this year in more than 2,000 public schools, mainly from the North and Northeast, found the precariousness of the sanitary facilities in most of them.
The technicians concluded that 17% do not have drinking water, 54% do not have sewage collection and 6.8% have no bathroom.
In addition, in 14.9% of the universe inspected bathrooms had no water, in 10.7% there were no water reservoirs and at 23.5% reservoirs were not regularly cleaned.
The data were made available in a division panel by municipality, state and educational establishment that can be accessed.
The reports will subsidize strategic performance of the State Public Ministries and the Courts of Auditors.
“The data will serve as a subsidy for guidance, monitoring and supervision actions regarding the operating conditions of public schools located in their jurisdiction. It is intended that all girls and all boys can attend schools with the basic conditions to ensure dignity, learning and permanence in a protected and welcoming environment,” says Cezar Miola, member of the Atricos Board of Directors, association that brings together the country’s accounts.
