Santos is negotiating to hire striker Billal Brahimi, 25, without a club after terminating a contract with Nice of France. The player was offered to the Vila Belmiro club, and the board of directors decided to open formal conversations. According to ESPN, the parties have already reached an agreement on salaries, and the contract discussed would be valid until the end of 2026.

Brahimi’s name has gained strength behind the scenes of the club in recent days, and the negotiations have advanced. The Santos board has meetings scheduled with the athlete’s representatives to finish the details of the bond. The goal is to reach an agreement that allows the attacker to integrate the cast as soon as possible.

In addition to the technical factor, one of the attractions that convinced the player was the possibility of acting alongside Neymar. The sports proposal presented by the fish even surpassed an offer made by an unveiled club from MLS, which also showed interest in having the striker.

Who is Billal Brahimi?

Billal Brahimi is a Franco-Argeline striker born on March 14, 2000, in Paris, France. Despite starting his career in European football, the player chose to represent Algeria’s national team on the international scene.

Brahimi’s formation began in the French and English club base categories. He passed through Leixões, from Portugal, and then joined the youth system of Middlesbrough, England, where he took his first steps as a professional.

In 2019, he returned to France to defend Stade de Reims and Angers, where he won more minutes on the field and fell as a young promise.

In 2022, Billal signed with Nice. However, without much space in the main team, the striker was loaned in the 2023/24 season to Sint-Truiden, from Belgium, where he had more opportunities to act regularly.

Brahimi was free to sign with any team after contract termination with Nice, made official on September 1st.

In the international scenario, Brahimi began to defend the Algerian team from 2022. His style of play caught the attention of coach Djamel Belmadi, who started to summon him to friendly and official competitions.

Brahimi is free in the market

Santos Football Executive, Alexandre Mattos, is ahead of the conversations with the Brahimi staff. He has been working to ensure the arrival of occasional reinforcements, aligned with the profile desired by the club for the sequence of the season.

Being free in the market, Brahimi hiring does not depend on the opening of transfer windows, which facilitates your immediate registration if the agreement is realized.
