First the Longing, then the seduction, now that Ecstase: One might think that the motto of the music festival autumn gold has followed an erotic increase logic since 2023. An impression that director Julian Rachlin, of course, rejects. The violinist and conductor wants to unleash passions at Esterházy Castle, but that only serve the art of sound: “Without longing, seduction and ecstasy, there is no examination of music, neither for the artists nor for the audience,” says the classical star, who has headed for autumn gold since 2021 and opens another output in Eisenstadt this Wednesday.
