Minister Alexandre de Moraes presented on Tuesday (9) a chronology with 13 acts that, according to him, prove the existence of a criminal organization aimed at a coup d’état, led by former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The exhibition was made while reading the vote in the trial of the first class of the Supreme Court, which may lead to the conviction of the former president and seven other defendants.
According to Moraes, it is not just plans or hypotheses, but preparatory and executory acts that advanced from 2021 until they culminated in the attacks of 8 January 2023, when the headquarters of the three powers were invaded in Brasilia.
“The criminal organization has structured itself with division of tasks and misuse of public agencies, in a lying narrative to discredit the Electoral Justice and perpetuate the defeated government at the polls,” the minister said.
The 13 acts listed by Moraes
1. Use of public agencies to monitor opponents and attack the judiciary.
2. Lives and interviews between July and August 2021 with threats to the Electoral Court.
3. Act of September 7, 2021, which included threats to the Supreme Court.
4. Ministerial meeting of July 5, 2022.
5. Meeting with ambassadors on July 18, 2022.
6. Improper use of the PRF in the 2nd round of elections.
7. Report of the Armed Forces on electronic ballot boxes, considered part of the coup strategy.
8. Acts after the 2nd round, such as the Live of November 4, 2022, the meeting of the “black kids” and the so -called “Letter to the Commander.”
9. Operation Planning “Green and Yellow Dagger” and “2022 Cup”.
10. Monitoring of the President-elect and the operations “Scope” and “142”, in addition to “post-go” speech ”.
11. The draft of the coup presented to military commanders.
12. The attempt to blow consummated in the acts of January 8, 2023.
13. The creation of a “crisis office” after the attacks.
For Moraes, these episodes form a “logical criminal chronology”, ranging from the construction of the ballot box narrative to the attempted institutional rupture. The rapporteur stressed that the analysis of the trial is not limited to discussing whether or not there was an attempt to coup, but the participation of each defendant in the stages of the process.
