Bangkok – Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra (76) has been sentenced to one year in prison. The Supreme Court decided on Tuesday that the 76-year-old illegally served a prison sentence in 2023 in a hospital. “Sending him to the hospital was not legal. The accused knows that his illness was not an urgent affair and the stay in the hospital cannot be considered a prison sentence,” it said.
