The International Monetary Fund (IMF) reinforced on Tuesday, 9, support for the Argentine government’s fiscal stabilization agenda amid the volatility of local markets following the defeat of the country’s president, Javier Milei, in the legislative elections of Buenos Aires province.
In a statement, IMF spokeswoman Julie Kozack said the fund continues to closely collaboration with the Argentine authorities as the country implements a program to consolidate stability and improve the prospects for economic growth.
“We support Argentina’s commitment to ensure the sustainability of the program’s exchange and monetary framework, as well as its continuous adherence to the fiscal anchor and the comprehensive deregulation agenda,” he says.
