Poland aircraft and allied countries were called on Wednesday morning (10), local time, after the Ukraine Air Force warned that Russian drones entered the country’s air space, which is a member of NATO.

“Polish and allied fighters are operating in our airspace, while air defense and radar recognition systems on ground have been placed at the highest level of readiness,” Poland’s operational command said in an X publication.

Earlier, the Ukraine Air Force said in the Telegram messaging app that drones were following west and threatening the city of Zamosc, Poland.

Polish authorities closed the Warsaw International Airport and was not yet clear.

“To ensure the safety of Polish airspace, the Polish Armed Forces Operational Commander has activated all the necessary procedures,” the statement said, adding that the Polish Armed Forces are “fully prepared for an immediate response.”

The Ukrainian press reported that at least one was heading to the Polish city of Rzeszow in the west of the country.
