President reveals what hindered São Paulo to close with Marcos Leonardo

São Paulo President Julio Casares revealed one of the reasons for the São Paulo club not closed with striker Marcos Leonardo, from Al-Hilal, Saudi Arabia. In an interview with ESPN, the leader admitted the difficulty of the business in financial terms, but pointed out that the leakage of information was the one that most disturbed the negotiation.

“We knew about an investment difficulty, that is, if it had investment, whatever the size, we would not do it, not only because it would be an adventure, because we had no money. It’s no use making an investment and stop paying salary,” he said.

Casters also directed words of thanks to, who, according to the agent, made a great effort to transfer to São Paulo.

“I want to thank the, because he worked hard, he and his manager. The big problem of this was the inappropriate leakage at a time of a negotiation that went late, I was present virtually and our directors were there. But the leak hindered,” he added.

Finally, the São Paulo President cited examples of other negotiations from Sao Paulo that materialized, arguing that in these cases the discretion prevailed.

“Early leak was terrible for us, and I always say: when we hired James Rodriguez had no leakage, Lucas himself was extremely discreted. I think that is the secret of a good deal. But, it hindered, it became a soap opera,” he concluded.
