A footballer of Boavista’s under-8 team died on Tuesday at the age of seven, after collapsing in a training session in the contiguous complex to the Bessa stadium in Porto, the club announced.
“The young man was unwell during the session, collapsing suddenly. He was immediately assisted on the scene, and the resuscitation maneuvers were beginning until the arrival of the National Institute of Emergency Medical (INEM). The emergency team continued the procedures and ensured transportation to the São João hospital in Porto, where the athlete was declared in the evening.” read in one .
The young man, whose identity was not revealed, complied with the second season in the young layers of Boavista and had performed the necessary medical examinations for his registration in 2025/26, “not being known to the club and family any clinical condition that would prevent sports practice.”

Leaving condolences to family, friends, teammates and schools, coaches and other people who lived with the deceased young man, Boavista assured that psychological support will be provided to all who need and decreed three days of mourning.
