Vienna - in the top of safety, and the United Kingdom and France came to the forefront of the "Black List"

Reolink has collected data from a variety of sources, including police statistics, media reports on organized crime, street bands, as well as polls among inhabitants and tourists on their personal safety.

Reolink analysis also included scientific research on the impact of unemployment and social inequality on crime rates. The findings were clear: most of the unsafe cities in Europe are concentrated in France and the United Kingdom.

Top 10 most dangerous cities in Europe

10. Paris, France
9. Nantes, France
8. Grenoble, France
7. Liège, BELGIA
6. Montpellier, France
5. Naples, Italy
4. Birmingham, UK
3. Marseille, France
2. Coventry, UK
1. Bradford, UK

At the other end of the rating were the cities with low violent crime rates, well-developed infrastructure and a comfortable urban environment. Zurich ranked first, with a violent crime rate of 5.2 cases per thousand inhabitants, followed by Vienna, with 8.1 violent offenses and 22.4 offenses against 1000 persons.

According to the Reolink report, this is due to the extended video surveillance, the visible presence of the police, to a friendly center with the pedestrians and the effective municipal services. Due to these measures, residents and tourists feel safe even late at night, and the cultural life of the city is available until night.

Other cities that are at the head of the safety list are Helsinki, Copenhagen, Oslo, Munich, Reykjavik, Bern, Stockholm and Luxembourg.
