Review – Metal Eden – Gamerview

Since the fantastic return that the Doom series had with the release of (2016), it was expected to be several games to emulate their new and revamped style. Prodeus and Metal: Hellsinger are some of those who come to mind when we think of games that opted this way, but now, in 2025, a new title comes with an similar theme and an even greater focus on speed: this is.

Developed by Reikon Games and distributed by Deep Silver, Metal Eden puts the player in control of a super -developed android combat unit in the futuristic Mobius Space Station. The place, designed to be the new address of the human race, was transformed into a prison for the numerous consciences arrested in the modules where they live. Aska remains, controlled by the player, to free what is left of humanity from a virtual hell.

The door of “paradise”

Metal Eden tells a futuristic story where humanity raised flight, starting from our Christmas planet towards the stars. In the orbit of the planet Vulcan, the space station that should be the new home of the human race was created. To support the trip, humanity created the technology called Core, where a person’s consciousness was implanted in small computational nuclei, starting the so -called “age of the portable population”.

After part of humanity was transplanted to colors, the leaders of this new order, called engineers, ended up drunk with their power over the population. Behaving like vain and choleric gods, they imprisoned humanity in their small nuclei while enjoying the city. The Eden project is considered a failure and ends up being shelved, leaving the people who went to Mobius arrested.

In this city, our protagonist awakens through an entity named Nexus. The Hyper Aska unit is an extremely powerful combat android capable of manipulating the colors of enemies as weapons. Getting attached to an automatic rifle at first, Aska will war against engineers to free people imprisoned in this false promised city and reveal the secrets behind their own existence.

Metal Eden presents a quick and adrenaline adventure, where Aska is no longer just a combat android and becomes a real threat to engineers. This is due not only to its vast arsenal or the ability to use enemy colors as weapons, but also to the fact that the so -called other colors of the city’s guardians can be absorbed by it.

Less visceral, faster

Metal Eden differs greatly from its inspiring source by having a higher focus on speed and a more agitated combat flow. Aska begins only with the infinite ammunition rifle, which quickly overheats, forcing the player to use physical attacks or steal enemy nuclei to strengthen. Over the levels, new weapons and skills are unlocked.

The first weapon obtained is a high-caliber revolver, followed by a shotgun, a plasma rifle that destroys armor, a rifle, a gun spear and a second energy weapon. The big difference is that these weapons can be improved throughout the game using the “Dust” currency. Each weapon has two different types of upgrades, making each gameplay solely.

In Metal Eden, players will face different types of enemies, with and without armor, and it gives a survival to those who have it. Energy weapons are great for dealing with them, but as they are rarely alone, upgrades are essential. The plasma rifle, for example, can have a freezing wave for crowd control, while shotgun can shoot up to three straight cartridges, creating varied combinations.

Further on, Aska is inspired by another famous space heroine and can become a sphere that can cross difficult land and fire rays or missiles. The combat system is very instinctive and fun, which will surely please both Doom fans and players in general.

The fate of the pawn

The great goal of Metal Eden is to follow Nexus’s instructions, a mysterious “liberator” responsible for releasing Aska from his programming and revealing to her the truths kept secret by engineers about Mobius. Nexus guides the player by the rooms full of enemies of the city and chambers stored by powerful and strange arachnid robots that protect the places where the guardians reside, where Aska absorbs the so -called Apex Core’s.

They are the key to Nexus’s ultimate goal on this journey, a key to a larger end, but make no mistake, there is no “heroes” so to speak in this world. Metal Eden is an incredible and solid view of how profit and power can change an idea and technologies made for the common good in order to please some investors or line the pocket of others.

The Eden project in the game ends up being abandoned in history and engineers reap the results of living in a futuristic paradise, where only they enjoy and live, even though they have become grotesque life forms, deformed human travel or adaptation to the new environment. Living in capsules and connected directly to the Main Frame of the Moebius system, an empty Eden where the snakes reign.

Nexus will not think twice about sacrificing Aska or demanding strenuous sacrifices from it to complete his plans, Aska is just a currency of exchange and a scarecrow to which he can control. However, over time, Metal protagonist Eden can surprise everyone, after all even a simple pawn can overcome the king in a chess match.

Mechanics and their news

The great metal differential eden is its central mechanics: the colors. Each nucleus essentially contains a person, forced to inhabit the machines we face. Although it is possible to overcome combat without using Aska’s ability to extract a core, using it as a pump or as an auxiliary battery for itself is the most effective way.

In throwing a core, he simply explodes in the enemies. However, when consuming it, Aska becomes even faster and stronger for a short time. Using the dodge, the player becomes a difficult target and can still unload all the excess energy in a single and powerful blow, capable of destroying almost all the game’s armor.

Extraction, launch and color consumption can be improved on the skill screen. After certain fights, the player can hack a nuclei safe and improve Aska with new capabilities, ranging from more ammunition and better weapons use to Bullet Time and advanced color manipulation.

Like weapons, Aska can also be improved in different ways, which guarantees different gameplays each time the player decides to visit Mobius. Of course, enemies can be repetitive and certain combat areas can cause a softlock on movement, but these few problems do not stain the brightness of the work.

A well -lubricated machine

Initially, I believed my processor would not be able to handle the game in its highest settings, but Metal Eden did not disappoint. Even in halls crowded with enemies, there was no significant drop in frames or crashes. The game runs beautifully, whether in combat, exploration or during Parkour by Mobius platforms.

The visual style, which at first looked like a cliché of the genre (space city, generic female robot, futuristic weapons), surprised me with a fantastic art direction and extremely well elaborate cutscenes. At certain times, aesthetics even reminded me of the classic Ghost in the Shell and the technologies used by Motoko.

The soundtrack is not as striking as doom’s, but it is competent and fulfills what is expected for a game of the genre. This is a bit disappointing, as a ruiner, another game of the same company, has a visceral and agitated soundtrack that turns the combat into a true ultraviolence show.

Metal Eden is an excellent choice for those who have a taste of “I want more” after Doom: Dark AGES, or those just looking for a fast and fun FPS. Different from the game’s Eden project, Metal It is a successful project. It is very worthwhile to indulge in this world of colors and corrupt engineers who seek to master a population attached to technology that promised to save them.
