European Commission increases financial support within the 18.1 billion euros program, reinforcing help from the war with Russia
The European Commission, the leading executive body of the European Union (EU), disbursed an additional 1 billion euros from its exceptional Ukraine assistance loan. The funds released will be reimbursed with Russian state -owned assets immobilized in the EU.
In total, the EU contribution to the initiative of loans under the Ukraine Assistance Agreement reaches 18.1 billion euros. The G7 -led program aims to collectively offer approximately 45 billion euros in financial support to Ukraine against the war promoted by Russia.
Considering this release, the total loans granted by the Commission to Ukraine within the program reaches 4 billion euros since the beginning of the year. Discussions with Ukraine about the subsequent disbursement calendar are underway, the commission said in a statement.

The European executive agency also reported that it is ready to make the remaining funds of the Assistance Program in advance, in accordance with the needs of the country, as requested by the European leaders in the Extraordinary Early Council of the beginning of this month.
