Rail disaster: Motor train ended up in ditch at Magyarkút station

Friday morning on the railway near Magyarkáte was accompanied by an accident. The motor train derailed, two employees suffered minor injuries and the accident is still subject to investigation.

One passenger was easier to get injured on Friday morning to derail several cars of a passenger train from the North Hungarian Vacov to Balážské Ďarmot. Referring to the index.hu server informs the TASR newsletter in Budapest.

According to the website of the State Railway Company Máv, several causes of the motor train derailed at the Magyarkút station for the previously unknown reasons for 07.38 h, one of which got into the ditch.

Cause of the accident

The cause of the accident is investigated by the competent authorities. Máv spokesman Viktor Vaczi in the afternoon, according to MTI, said to journalists that two railway employees-a guide and a cashier-suffered minor injuries. At the Magyarkút stop, the first two wagons of a motor train assembled from five wagons were derailed in the morning.

Limited speed

At the time of briefing, there was an investigation into the causes of the accident. The three cars that remained on the track were already separated from the derailed wagons. The spokesman added that the speed of the track is limited to 50 km/h. The train with 20 passengers started to brake in front of the stop and went at 38 km/h.
