Thousands of faithful went to, in, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dontest Sunday (14). “My dear ones, it seems that you know that I turned 70 today,” said the pontiff at the end of the traditional Angelus prayer of Sundays. “I thank the Lord, my parents and all who remembered me in their prayers,” added the Pope, applauding the crowd.

The Vatican did not plan any official event to celebrate the pontiff’s birthday, which will preside over a mass for 21st century martyrs.
