Vitor Roque works mentally to establish himself at Palmeiras: ‘Psychologist has helped a lot’

From the board bet to the absolute protagonism on Saturday night in the 4-1 rout of the. After a hesitant start to the club, he indicated another initiative that has complemented the application in training: mental care.

“Football is like that. If you stop scoring a goal, you are the worst in the world. But if you do, you are the best in the world. So, try to have resilience. I’ve been talking a lot with the psychologist and that has helped me a lot,” said the player after scoring the three goals of the São Paulo team in the runner-up of the national competition with 46 points.

Hired after not taking revenge on Spanish football, the player arrived at Palmeiras under suspicion and took a long time to “disenchant”. After 13 fasting matches, his first goal with the green shirt came in the 1-0 triumph over Vasco on May 4th. At the time, the athlete did not hide the pressure he had been suffering for not being able to puff the net. “Feeling of relief,” he said at the time.

But if the beginning was complicated, the times are now different. With the three balls on this Saturday the athlete counts six goals and four assists with the Palmeirense shirt. Satisfied that he was the best on the field, he celebrated his convincing performance.

“It was the perfect hat-trick. Very happy and I have only to thank this moment. God has sustained me and the goals are leaving,” said the player reinforcing the belief on the spiritual side to follow in good phase on the pitch.

With four wins and a draw in the last five games, Palmeiras wants to keep the package in Nacional and will count again with the strength of Allianz at the next meeting within the competition. The team returns to the field on Saturday, again in São Paulo, against Fortaleza. “We need to continue with the same focus,” added Vitor Roque who seeks to keep the goal in the Palmeirense attack.
