Diogenes had a heavy chance on Sunday (14), against Atlético-MG, in a 1-1 draw at the MRV Arena. Rooster came out ahead with Igor Gomes, but Tiquinho Sores tied.
The reserve goalkeeper of Peixe entered the second stage replacing Gabriel Brazão, who left an ambulance after a shock with Igor Gomes. With this, Sporting News shows who the Santos archer is.

Who is Diogenes?
Diogenes Vinícius da Silva, known only as Diogenes, is one of Santos’ bets for the future of position. Born on January 6, 2001, in Itapecerica da Serra (SP), the athlete is 1.90m tall and passed clubs such as Taboão da Serra, Internacional and Avaí before reaching Peixe.
Integrated with the professional cast since 2021, he acts as an immediate reserve, being the second goalkeeper with the departure of João Paulo.
Despite having few opportunities in the main team, Diogenes has officially debuted by Santos, accumulating two matches played.
We have to praise the goalkeeper Diogenes. Faced with so much distrust (since he played very little in the professional), he hit the chest and played a great game.
He made 3 defenses, 2 of them difficult and very important.
May Brazão come back soon, but apparently we have a good reserve … pic.twitter.com/3Z3yozeuFX

Diogenes contract
The board, however, demonstrates confidence in its potential and agreed, in August 2024, the renewal of its contract until December 2026. The bet is that the young archer follows evolving, gain more shooting and can fight for space in the coming years.
