The Swedish Mondo Doubrontis broke the world record of the rod for the 14th time with a 6.30 meter leap in its third attempt, ensuring its third consecutive world title on Monday (15) in Tokyo.

The gold medal was already guaranteed to the Swedish born in the United States when he asked to raise the batter an inch above the 6.29m record height he got in Budapest last month.

He failed by minimal margins in his first two attempts, but, encouraged by a captivated audience at the Tokyo National Stadium, went over the third attempt with the slightly tremendous Sarrafo before stabilizing.

The Greek Emmanouil Karalis won silver as the only one besides overcoming 6m, while Australian Kurtis Marschall equalized his personal record with a 5.95m jump to win his second world bronze medal in Worlds.
