Former President Jair Bolsonaro was hospitalized on Tuesday (16) in Brasilia after presenting a low blood pressure crisis, accompanied by sobs and vomiting.
According to the responsible medical team, Bolsonaro will remain in the hospital at night for monitoring and care.
The former president’s defense reported that he suffered an episode of malaise, pre-syncope and drop in blood pressure, which motivated his trip to the emergence of DF Star Hospital.
Bolsonaro has been home to house arrest in his residence, as determined by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, the Supreme Court (STF).
The arrest was decreed in the context of investigations on the attempted coup d’état that occurred between the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, which sought to prevent President Lula’s inauguration.
Last week, the former president was sentenced by the STF to 27 years and 3 months in prison by the coup plot.

On Sunday (14), Bolsonaro had already undergone a surgical procedure to remove skin lesions on the trunk and the right arm.
The hospital reported that the surgery was performed under local anesthesia and sedation, without complications. The former president has been under medical follow-up since then.
