Martín Palermo’s debut in Fortaleza it was 2-0 triumph over the Victory, last Saturday (13), in direct confrontation in the Z4 of the Brazilian Championship. The result broke a sequence of 21 games in which the team could not end without conceding goals and, at the same time, shaking the nets.

In addition, it brought relief to the fans and confidence to the cast, but the Argentine coach also had to explain important post-game decisions. One of them was the reintegration of striker Deyverson,

“He is a player I have consideration for. I have talked to him, I feel it will be important. We know how he is, we know him well, and obviously I will help him so that, at some point, it will be used, be part of the team,” he said.

“I believe it is an important and dear player. I know the conversation we had was very intelligent, I also know that he has his internal madness, but it is good to have such players, I like it,” he added.

Another theme addressed was the absence of Colombian midfielder Yeison Guzmán, one of the most anticipated signings of the last window. Palermo explained that the dispute by position is intense and that the choice was technical.

“We have Lucca Prior, we have Pochettino, we have Crispim and we have Guzmán. There are many players for one position. So, I have to elect one. On this occasion, Guzmán was out, but is a player who has seen who is willing, a player with great expectation for his arrival,” explained Palermo.

Despite the victory, Fortaleza follows in the Z4 of Brasileirão and now concentrates the attention to the next commitment, against the Palm trees, for the 24th round. The match is scheduled for Saturday (20), at 21h (Brasília), at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo.
