A former senior position of the Government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso investigated in the ‘Residences Case’, Carlos Mur, has fallen on Wednesday of the two conferences poster at the Medical College of Madrid, after the complaints of an association of relatives of deceased, as the country has known. Hours before, the 7,291 truth and justice association had denounced in a statement the inclusion of Mur in those events that were going to be held on November 22 and 23 at the (ICOMEM).
Mur in several open procedures in courts of the Madrid region investigating the system that established the Community of Madrid in March 2020 for which they lived in the residences of seniors. At that time, MUR was the director of socio -health coordination of the Ministry of Health and signed four triage protocols for hospitals and residences.
Mur was dismissed in May of that year, before the judicial investigation began, and until the beginning of this year he served as the Mental Health Service of the Principality of Andorra. He is a psychiatrist and his talks at the College of Physicians were going to deal with psychopharmaceuticals.
A spokeswoman for the Psiformation Foundation, who organized the talks and is dedicated to teaching mental health training courses, has responded to El País that Mur has been withdrawn from the poster, without giving more explanations. The College of Physicians did not respond to successive communication attempts by this newspaper.
The Family Association had shown his outrage to hear that Mur returned to Madrid as a speaker. “This is pain on pain,” says María Jesús Valero, president of the 7,291 truth and justice association. “I don’t know what they want.”
The news that the former high position would participate in two days was advanced on Tuesday by The sixth. In the two conferences, Mur was going to intervene as a doctor in psychiatry to talk about the theme “The role of psychopharmacology in the mind-body connection.” The talk was going to be moderated by the also psychiatrist María Inés López-Ibor Alcocer, former vice-counted health management, public health and consumption of the Community of Madrid during the Government of Esperanza Aguirre. Mur, in fact, appears as a member of the Board of Trustees on the website of the Psinformation Foundation.
“It seems delezzar, not only of the Community of Madrid, but also of the College of Physicians, which surprises us that it did not know about its involvement in the deaths of residences,” says Valero.
The College of Physicians is not the organizer of the talks, but is only the host, since it usually rent several of the rooms of their headquarters for this type of event. However, Dr. José Morán, a former member of the ICOMEM Board of Directors, says it is “clumsiness and imprudence” that the school has not had filters when programming a talk with such a controversial person.
The IComem has been going through a period of turbulence since January of this year, due to alleged breaches of the conditions to hold the position. The outgoing and loser board of directors is in office and the president -elect struggle in the courts to access the position.
Morán says that with this panorama it does not seem very prudent to envivate controversies with the presence in its headquarters of a former high position of the regional government charged with the death of thousands of older people.
The Ministry of Health of Madrid has unmarked the decision. A spokesman for the Minister Fatima Matute assures that the community “neither sponsored, sponsor, nor organizes absolutely nothing”, of what is related to these conferences, which are not the scope of serma. They point out that in principle there could be a confusion because in the announcement of the Mur talks the organizing team used the logo of two hospitals belonging to the Sermas, which have finally been withdrawn at the request of the Ministry.
The relatives of the victims had announced a concentration at the gates of the ICOMEM. “It’s not a craving,” says Valero, “we have reasons not to accept more stomps.”
