Obtaining the old age pension used to be a time consuming process, with answers that could take weeks. Now there is a service that promises to simplify: the “pension on time.” According to the Ekonomist news portal, this mechanism has been available since February 26, 2021 on the direct social security platform and allows applicants to make the request for renovation and receive a response within 24 hours.
The news seeks to reduce the average time of order analysis, which, in the simplest cases, was around 50 days. According to the same source, the automation of the calculation of the pension value contributes to streamline processes and decrease the manual analysis load by the services.
HOW THE SERVICE WORKS
The “at the time” allows the value of the reform to be automatically calculated by the system, based on the recorded contributory career. Write the publication that, after submitting the request, the applicant can immediately verify the years of discounts and the estimated gross value of his pension.
If you agree with the value, the process advances and a provisional pension is issued within 24 hours. It refers to the same source that payment begins on the stipulated date, and it is possible to adjust if any incorrect calculations are detected.
Access conditions
To resort to this service it is necessary to have reached the legal or personal reform age and have the discounts required to access the pension. Explains the site that are only considered the discounts made in the General Social Security regime, being excluded, for now, other national or foreign contributory regimes.
The applicant may not be covered by special careers, must reside in Portugal and, in the case of independent workers, have no debt to social security. Only with these filled conditions is it possible to benefit from the automatic decision.
Steps to place the order
To start the process you must be registered with direct social security and access with the respective password. It adds what, within the “Pensions” menu, just choose “old age pension” to view the years of discounts and the estimated value of the reform.
After answering some questions, the request is submitted and the decision is communicated through the platform’s messaging box. The amount attributed is provisionally paid until it is definitively validated.
Social Security advises the regular update of personal data, such as telephone number and email address. Including IBAN allows the pension to be transferred directly to the bank account, making the process faster.
In cases where the conditions are not gathered, the request follows for manual analysis, but the applicant may monitor the process evolution online and verify the state in real time.
