According to newspaper, preparations for the Republican’s trip are in final stage and include possible soybean purchase agreements
Presidents of China, Xi Jinping (PCCH), and the United States, Donald Trump (Republican Party), plan to talk by phone on Friday (19.Set.2025). The dialogue occurs after the commercial delegations of the countries hold a round of negotiations on Monday (15.set) in Madrid, Spain.
According to information from the countries, the countries are in the final phase of negotiations for a state visit from Trump to Beijing. The trip is expected to take place in November, near the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit, which will be held in South Korea from October 31 to November 1st.
The choice of Spain as among the Chinese and American delegations followed the strategy of conversations in neutral countries. Other meetings in European territories had already been held. The conversation is an attempt to rapproche after a period of commercial and technological tensions.
During an interview with journalists, Chinese representative Li Chenggang said China opposes politicization, instrumentalization and use as a weapon of technological and commercial issues. He also said that the Asian country will not make agreements “at the expense of principles, corporate interests or international justice ”.
