GENIAL RESEARCH/QUAREST released on Thursday (18) shows that the return of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to the presidency generates more fear than the reelection of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT). For 49% of respondents, the higher risk would be the former president’s return, while 41% say fear the continuity of the current government.
The so -called “fear index” remained stable compared to August, with a difference of 8 points between the two scenarios. The largest variation occurred among voters who declare themselves without political positioning: in this group, 50% say they are more afraid of Bolsonaro, up 4 points compared to August and 12 points since July.
The survey also pointed to stability in the rejection of Lula’s candidacy: 59% say he should not run for reelection, against 58% in August. About Bolsonaro, 76% of respondents say he should give up and support another candidate, compared to 65% in the previous month.

The survey listened to 2,004 people in person between September 12 and 14, in all regions of the country. The margin of error is 2.2 percentage points.
