- The Germans in the first place deal with the growth of life costs.
- Concerns include expensive food, rent and basic expenses.
- People are also afraid of overloading the state by refugees.
- The survey indicated a slight decline in concern compared to last year.
The increasing cost of living for the fifteenth time ranked first in the ranking of the biggest concerns of the Germans. This stems from the results of the study informed by DPA, writes TASR. According to a survey called “Fears of Germans” Approximately 52 percent of the population is worried that food, rent and other basic expenses will be more expensive.
The cost of living has thus become the most urgent problem of the Germans for 15 times since the start of the study in 1992, notes DPA. Second place was concerned that the state could be overloaded with the arrival of refugees. This was followed by fear of increasing taxes and reducing social benefits. However, the authors of the study also found that, compared to last year, the level of concern in all areas was slightly reduced to the lowest level since 2021.
“People are constantly confronted with several crisis situations that make them feel helpless,” she said Political Science Isabelle Borucki, who was also a study consultant. According to her, the Germans have already got used to this condition. She noted, however, that this does not mean that people are no longer worried, they just focus more on the present.
The study was carried out by the insurance company R+in Insurance. As part of this year’s survey of the interviewers in the period From May to July, they approached approximately 2,400 people aged 14 and over. Respondents rated individual topics on a seven -point scale, where he said 1 point that they did not feel any concerns about the topic.
