In the first six months of the year, international housing demand in Portugal has remained quite significant in several areas of the country.

O has just published an analysis of the demand for houses for sale in Portugal by foreigners in the second quarter of 2025.

Madeira (42%), Faro (36%), São Miguel (34%) e VIANA DO CASTELO (30%) were the territories with the highest percentage of visits to ads since abroad.

On the contrary, as the real estate services company, in a statement sent to ZAP, details Lisbon, Évora, Setúbal and Porto registered less than 15% international demand.

France, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland and Spain These are the main countries of origin of research done. But the USA stand out for appearing in Top 3 in several regions of Portugal.

France leads the demand in eight districts: Viana do Castelo, Bragança, Vila Real, Guarda, Leiria, Braga, Aveiro and Porto.

Already United Kingdom is first in six territories: Faro, Castelo Branco, Beja, Santarém, Setúbal and Évora.

In Madeira, foreigners looking for houses are German (18%), British (17%) and Americans (10%).

In Faro, United Kingdom (17%), France (12%) and Germany (12%) lead the search.

In Lisbon, international demand comes mainly from the US (14%), the United Kingdom (13%) and Spain (8%).

In Porto, France stand out (15%), USA (12%) and Brazil (9%).
